FLOWERS

I enjoy painting bouquets (especially if they consist of different flowers). For one thing, they are very vivid, and they suit me admirably in my attempt to create a stained-glass shine with my paints. Second, flowers are a fascinating subject: a bouquet always has one primary flower, a few flowers that are adjacent to it, several lower-ranking flowers – and, finally, some flowers that are far removed from the primary one; these have been added solely to highlight the dominant members of the bouquet. I enjoy making sense of this hierarchy.
